This mid 1960s Teisco MJ-2L is in very good cosmetic condition. This old guitar shows signs of play wear and age throughout including some small nicks on the body and body edges, some light buckle wear on the back of the body, some tarnishing of the metal hardware and the tremolo arm is missing in action. This Teisco features a very chunky D shaped neck profile that is nice and rounded with a fairly flat rosewood fingerboard. This neck feels good and full in the hand and is easy and fun to play! The original frets on this guitar are of the tall thin variety and are in great shape with no major divots or excessive wear. This guitar is set up with .10 to .46 gauge strings and it plays very well up and down the fingerboard. The action is low and it does not fret out or buzz like crazy. This example plays better than 90% of the Teisco guitars that I’ve had the opportunity to play. The electronics in this guitar are all original, have been cleaned and are in great operating order. The original pickups in this guitar sound awesome and are perfectly suited for lo-fi rock, thumpy fingerstyle blues, quirky hillbilly arrangements, spy music and reverb washed surf melodies. This is a truly funky old vibe machine with a GIGANTIC peghead and a cheap greasy tone that is quite satisfying!
