Reserva: where Rioja gets serious. Peciña Reserva, though, is where *Reservas* get serious. What do I mean? First of all, they only make it in certain vintages, when conditions allow. Second of all, instead of the aging for the minimum 3 years required by Rioja Reserva, Peciña doubles down -- literally -- and ages it for six! While this has 10-15 *more* years of life in it, it is ripe and open and ready for drinking now. Blackberry, cedar, cherry; vanilla; slight toasted mocha notes.
