How many Pioneers do you have on your wall? You are missing this one.
On June 27, 1909, French Count Charles de Lambert made a flight of approximately 3.5 minutes with his Wright Flyer at Leur near Breda, The Netherlands. It was the first flight over Dutch soil.
It was a gift from Dutch sugar mill-owner Heerma van Voss to his staff at the 40th anniversary of his factory. He wanted to show them something they never had seen before.
This reproduction is the month of December of the Pioneers of Flight Calendar.
