Alavente Mystery Dial | Diamond Hour Markers | Silver-Tone Round | Original Box
Description
The mystery dial is one of watchmaking's most intriguing complications. Instead of traditional hands pointing at fixed hour markers, the mystery dial uses a rotating transparent disc with a single indicator (in this case, a diamond) that sweeps around the dial to show the time. The mechanism that drives the disc is hidden at the edge of the dial, creating the illusion that the indicator is floating freely.
This Alavente mystery dial features twelve rectangular diamond-set hour markers arranged around the outer ring of the dial. The central portion is a frosted silver disc that rotates continuously. "Alavente" script and brand text are visible near the centre. The silver-tone round case is slim and refined, with straight lugs and a clean bezel.
The watch comes in its original Alavente presentation box, a black elongated case with "Alavente" in italic script and "Worn by Royalty the World Over" tagline on the interior lid, flanked by small rhinestone accents. On a black lizard-grain leather strap.

Historical Significance
Mystery dial watches date back to the 18th century when clockmakers first experimented with hiding the movement mechanism. Cartier popularised the concept in wristwatches in the early 20th century. The Alavente interpretation uses a rotating disc approach inspired by Movado's Museum design, where minimalism and the mystery of "how does it work?" are the primary appeal.
A working mystery dial with diamond hour markers in its original presentation box. The kind of watch that stops conversations and starts new ones.
