The notebook features a tactile garment fabric by Shimada Textiles, a manufacturer of Banshu-ori textiles. Banshu-ori is a regional woven textile made using the sakizome technique in which yarns are dyed before weaving. The company creates original fabric designs with skilled artisans across all stages of production.

A distinctive pattern is created by loosely weaving heavier weight yarns. The fabric is pressed at the finishing stage for a natural sheen and smooth hand feel.
