Remember those kitchen cupboards/larders where grannies used to store all the goodies, nibbles and munchies, kitchen supplies, pickle jars, etc.? One could peer at the treasures within the cupboard through the mesh wire doors, and a simple flick of that rotating wooden piece above the doors would open the 'lock'! This is our nod to the granny's larder, also known in the West as pie safe, meat safe, or pie chest. The traditional-style mesh screen doors ensure good ventilation and keep insects, vermin, cockroaches at bay. The only 'sophistication' here is the magnetic door catch mechanism instead of the wooden lock.
