This is a safety cover installation and removal rod. This tool is designed for use with traditional safety covers that are secured using brass anchors. 

For Cover Removal: The lip on the open end of the tool goes over the brass anchor, facing away from the pool. The lip should go between the anchor and the cover's spring. Slowly angle the tool downwards, towards the pool, to 'pop' the spring off of the anchor. 

For Cover Installation: We prefer to do this in groups of 2, depending on the size of the pool. First, line up your cover & determine the orientation. It is easiest to start on a single side of the pool, and slowly work your way across. Once the cover builds tension and the tool is needed, it is used as follows: 

1) Slide the springs' opening into the tool, near the middle. 

2) Slide the lip on the open end of the tool, over the brass anchor. 

3) In a lever-like motion, push the safety cover tool outwards, away from the pool. This will force the spring opening outwards, and secure it to the brass anchor.
