Sir Adam Mure's daughter was Elizabeth and future Queen to Robert the II. A later royal connection occurred when their daughter Joanna, married Sir John Lyon, who descended the Earls of Strathmore & Kinghorne, forbearers of the late Queen Mother and her daughter Queen Elizabeth II. Many of this clan later dispersed into major clans such as Gordon, Campbell, Donal and Stewart.
