This Rwandan postage stamp, issued in 1974, depicts “Marie et l’Enfant” (Mary and the Child), a painting by G. Davio. The artwork shows the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus, accompanied by two serene angels in the background, rendered in a delicate Renaissance style with a radiant golden backdrop. The stamp bears the inscription “République Rwandaise” and a denomination of 50 centimes.

Notably, it also features the UPU Centenary emblem at the lower right — marking the 100th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (1874–1974), celebrated worldwide through commemorative philatelic issues.
