Relieve and promote healing of superficial burns - Urgo

URGO Superficial Burns and Wounds sterile dressing is for the treatment of **first-degree and superficial second-degree burns** (blisters) as well as **superficial wounds** (grazes, cuts).

**The dressing contains lipidocolloid technology**, a unique combination of hydrocolloid particles and petroleum jelly. This formula **relieves pain and promotes healing**. In addition, the dressing **does not adhere to the wound and allows for painless removal.**

Instructions for use:

In the case of a superficial second-degree burn: First, hold the wound under cold water for 15 minutes to limit the spread of the burn.

In all cases:

1. Clean the wound with an alcohol-free antiseptic, then rinse with water or URGO physiological saline.
2. In the case of a burn, never use colored antiseptics such as eosin.
3. Dry thoroughly with a sterile compress.
4. As far as possible, preserve the blister, which is a barrier against infection. If it breaks, disinfect it. It is not necessary to remove dead skin if it does not come off on its own.
5. Remove the protective tabs and apply to the area to be treated.
6. If necessary, cut the dressing to the desired size using clean and disinfected scissors, then cover it with a secondary dressing such as a sterile URGO compress held in place by an elastic bandage such as Nylexfix or a plaster such as Urgopore®.
7. The prior use of a cream is unnecessary.
8. The usual duration of treatment is 5 to 6 days, with the first dressing being changed after 24 hours, then every 48 hours.

Contraindications:

Do not use for deep second-degree burns, third-degree burns, or facial burns. In these cases, a prior medical consultation is mandatory.

Precautions for use & warning:

Reserved for the treatment of localized wounds, the size of which does not exceed the format of a compress.
For extensive burns, it is desirable for the compress to extend well beyond the burn to allow for the absorption of exudates.
If you do not notice any improvement in healing after 6 days, consult your doctor.
For any burn in a child, ask your pharmacist for advice.
In the presence of clinical signs of local infection (redness extending to uninjured skin, pain, etc.), consult your pharmacist or doctor.
URGO Superficial Burns and Wounds dressing should be used as soon as the sachet is opened, and stored away from heat, light, and humidity.
The reuse of a single-use product can cause risks of infection.

Composition: Polyester mesh impregnated with hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethylcellulose) and petroleum jelly.

Format: Sterile single sachets:

• Box of 6 small dressings (5 x 5 cm)
• Box of 4 large dressings (8 x 8 cm).
