In overall Good condition, has been polished and restored,
the top is in good condition just one or two minor blemishes , general minor bruising and deep scratches to the drop-leaf,
bruising and losses to turned section of legs,
joints structure of table is slightly weak but still perfectly functional none of the above detract from this fine and charming piece of English history.
Provenance, below is the catalogue description for this table from Christie's, purchased by a well known antique academic .
Supplied in the mid-1820s to the House of Peers, Palace of Westminster.

The George IV Palace of Westminster table
has a galleried and hinge-fronted top supported on robust reeded and columnar legs that are fitted with castors.
It epitomises the elegant and practical library furniture designed in the mid-1820s
for the House of Lords by Sir John Soane (d. 1837), Architect Attached to the
Office of Works and author of 'Designs in Architecture', 1778, which included furniture patterns.
