Tibetans all over the world celebrate Tibetan New Year. The word Losar is a Tibetan word for New Year. LO means year and SAR means new.
This very special handcrafted box is used to display Losar foods. It is traditionally filled with chemar and roasted barley grains during celebrations. The box is vertically divided in to two halves by a beautifully hand painted wooden board so that two different kinds of treats may both be offered.
In modern homes, it can be filled with other offerings such as dry fruits and sweets. It is hand made and painted in Nepal and would be a beautiful addition to your Losar shrine.
