Longines Gold Medal Ref 3007-528 | 10K Gold Filled Art Deco Tank | Linen Dial | Manual Wind
Description
This Longines Gold Medal reference 3007-528 is a striking and well-preserved example of 1970s dress watch design. The rectangular tank case is 10K gold filled, with strong architectural lines and a brushed bezel finish that has been beautifully preserved. The caseback is clearly signed 10K GOLD FILLED. The crown is the original Longines / Wittnauer signed piece.
Longines has been making watches since 1832 and signs every dial with the winged hourglass, the same mark the brand has used continuously since 1867 and one of the oldest registered trademarks in the world. The Gold Medal line honoured the gold medals the brand won at international exhibitions in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This Gold Medal reference carries that heritage into a crisp Art Deco tank form.
The dial is the quiet hero. A cream linen texture sits inside a recessed oval chapter ring, with applied gold baton markers and slim black stick hands in a pure two-hand layout. The Longines winged hourglass signature and SWISS print complete the face. Despite its rectangular proportions, the case wears surprisingly well on the wrist thanks to its tall proportions and pronounced lugs.

Historical Significance
Longines Gold Medal references carry the name the brand earned through its wins at international exhibitions, including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris World Exhibition. The rectangular tank format was a signature Art Deco form that Longines translated into dress watches through the mid and late 20th century. A 1970s example in 10K gold filled construction with original crown, is exactly the kind of complete vintage Longines that collectors look for.
A pre-loved 1970s Longines Gold Medal tank, complete with original box and papers, 17 jewel Swiss manual wind, and the kind of honest character that only decades of wear can produce.
