A brown leather case.
There are two saddle straps on the back for attachment to the D-rings of a saddle, These are in good condition.

There is also a strap on the back with a brass D-ring on each end.
The lid of the case is curved and closes with a brass buckle fastening. The lid is stamped "597".

Under the lid the front of the case is stamped "J.Cripps 1915" .
The case is unlined.
There is an interior partition across the case and the front section is further divided into three. The leather dividers have come loose. There is a narrow strap inside which could have passed under a fitting to help with its removal. 

It is in quite good condition for its age with a few surface scuffs and scratches. There is some insect damage on the back and it is creased on the front left. The stitching on the top right of the lid is becoming loose, otherwise all the stitching and straps are in good order.
