Seeking a premium, easy-to-apply brushable contact adhesive that delivers fast, high-strength, and exceptionally heat and water resistant bonds for laminate, foam, or upholstery fabrication? Everbond Brush Contact ensures durable, lasting adhesion where quick turnaround and reliable performance matter. Its formulation allows for controlled manual application, providing immediate grab and a strong bond that stands up to demanding conditions.
Why this product exists
Everbond Brush Contact was formulated as a premium, one-component polychloroprene (neoprene) contact adhesive to meet the varied needs of laminate and foam fabrication, transport vehicle interior fitting, and general upholstery. It offers a fast initial grab and quick drying time, crucial for efficient workshop operations. This adhesive provides a very high heat and water-resistant bond, ensuring strong and lasting adhesion on a broad range of substrates.
The numbers that matter
- Composition: One-component polychloroprene. This chemistry delivers high initial strength and broad adhesion, characteristic of reliable contact bonding.
- Flash-off time: Approximately 3-5 minutes. This quick drying time is critical for maintaining production efficiency, allowing for rapid assembly once the adhesive is touch-dry.
- Heat resistance: Withstands temperatures in excess of 120°C with the 2P additive. This ensures bonds remain stable in environments like vehicle interiors or near heat sources, preventing delamination.
- Consumption: Approximately 6-8 m²/Litre. This metric helps in calculating material requirements and ensures efficient coverage for large-scale projects.
What it's like to use
Prepare surfaces by ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of oils, fats, or loose materials. Apply Everbond Brush Contact evenly to both bonding surfaces using a brush, rollcoater, tooth-comb, or notched trowel. Allow the adhesive to flash off until it is touch dry, which typically takes 3-5 minutes depending on ambient conditions. Once touch dry, bring the two prepared surfaces together and apply strong, even pressure to ensure full contact. Work at temperatures between +10°C and +35°C, with optimal results at +20°C for the atmosphere, materials, and adhesive. Avoid pooling the adhesive, as entrapped solvents can lead to weak bonds or blistering. For cleanup of uncured adhesive or tools, use Acetone.
Where this product excels
- Joinery & Cabinets: For bonding plastic laminates to timber, MDF, or particleboard, particularly for benchtops and cabinet panels where durability and heat resistance are critical.
- Caravan & Truck / Auto Body: Securing interior covering materials such as PUR foams, textiles, and vinyls in transport vehicle fit-outs. This includes bonding to steps, wheel arches, seat brackets, and side walls, especially for materials with high spring-back forces.
- Upholstery: In both automotive and furniture upholstery, it provides strong, lasting bonds for leather, fabric, cloth-backed, and polyester-backed vinyls to various substrates.
Choose this when
- When you need a premium, brushable contact adhesive with strong initial grab and quick dry times.
- When high heat resistance and water resistance are essential for bond longevity.
- When bonding laminates, foams, leather, fabric, or vinyl to timber, MDF, concrete, glass, or metal.
- When controlled manual application via brush or trowel is preferred for precision.
Don't use this when
- Not for: Application in temperatures below +10°C, as condensed water can form and prevent proper bonding.
- Not for: Spray application on open weave or porous materials where bleed-through is a concern. For these applications, consider Everbond SP-230 Sprayable Contact Adhesive.
- Not for: Applications requiring an invisible, clear bond line, as this product is yellow. For transparent results, use Everbond Ultra Clear Brush Contact Adhesive.
- Not for: Situations where excessive adhesive is applied, or pooling occurs, as this traps solvents and can lead to a weak bond or blistering.
Choosing the right Everbond Contact Adhesive
Everbond Brush Contact is Adheseal's premium, one-component, yellow polychloroprene contact adhesive. It is specifically designed for controlled, manual application via brush, rollcoater, tooth-comb, or notched trowel, offering high heat and water resistance for durable bonds on a wide range of substrates, particularly in laminate and foam fabrication. For applications involving open weave or porous materials where spray application is preferred to prevent bleed-through, Everbond SP-230 Sprayable Contact Adhesive is the recommended alternative. If you require a clear bond line for aesthetic reasons, consider Everbond Ultra Clear Brush Contact Adhesive.
