Product Description: This is a strand of Etched Carnelian Beads.
Note: As this is an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Description: Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads feature patterns created using natron, a liquid derived from plants, which were then baked at low temperatures of 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While these beads have also been excavated from Mesopotamian and Afghan sites, it is believed that those made in the Indus River region were transported via land and sea routes.
