Can I install this without a lift or jack?

These mount at factory rocker points — no drilling or cutting required. You'll want the truck on level ground and may prefer a jack under the frame for easier bolt access underneath, but a lift is not mandatory.

Does the powder coat need any prep before I install it?

Powder coat ships ready to bolt on. Inspect the finish before installation; if any spots are damaged during shipping, light touch-up paint before mount prevents rust creep at fastener holes.
