Montblanc Great Characters Homage to Queen Limited Edition 1975, 131968

Shattering the boundaries between the genres over a five decade career, Queen dominated the charts by creating their own musical universe. This Montblanc Limited Edition fountain pen is inspired by their first album; A Night At The Opera, their fourth studio album, released November 1975. It became Queen's first number-one album in the UK and is considered the most expensive and elaborate album produced in the 20th century. The fountain pen features stylised portraits of the four members of Queen on its black cap, with artwork based on iconic Queen II and Hot Space album covers. The rhomboid black and white patterned barrel of the pen is inspired by Freddy Mercury's famous tight-fitting unitard; its black-and-white diamond pattern showcasing his unconventional stage persona. Brian May is also honoured by this Limited Edition pen; the platinum-coated cone has a distinctive look of the volume and tone control knobs on May’s famous electric guitar. The cone ring is also embossed with the name of the album: A Night at the Opera. The cap top of the pen is reminiscent of the crown worn by Freddy Mercury during the closing rendition of God Save The Queen and the platinum-coated clip is designed to resemble a microphone stand, in reference to one of the hallmarks of Freddie Mercury’s live performances. The pen has a solid 18ct white gold nib, coated in rhodium for extra shine, featuring a special silhouette engraving. This stylish pen is limited to 1975 pieces and this pen is number 1121/1975.
