Background of the Sword of the Father

In Final Fantasy XV, the Sword of the Father belonged to King Regis, the monarch of Lucis and father of Prince Noctis. The king’s signature weapon, he used the sword in many battles until he was defeated in the Fall of Insomnia. Although the sword was meant to be passed on to his son, it was stolen from his body by a foreign prince. Noctis eventually retrieved the sword and used it to defeat Ardyn, his great enemy.
