Seam preparation depends on your fitment tolerances and desired finish. If gaps exist after dry-fit, epoxy-based body filler or urethane sealant will close them before primer. Test-fit both pieces on your vehicle first to identify any gaps that need attention.

What kind of surface prep is required before painting?

Sand and prep the surface thoroughly. Remove any dust, debris, or release agent residue. The FRP is already in the right state for your finish — the quality of your prep work will determine final paint adhesion and appearance.
