Background of Shanks' Sword

Shanks, red-haired shanks or just known as Red hair is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors that rule over the new world. While working in the East Blue, Shanks met the protagonist of One Piece; Luffy to being his own pirate journey and became an important source of inspiration and aspiration for Luffy. Shanks gave Luffy his straw hat which became iconic to Luffy's appearance. Shanks wields a saber called Gryphon with his right arm.
