Do I need to drain the cooling system before installing this?

Yes. Drain the existing coolant completely, remove the radiator hoses and mounting hardware, then install the new unit. Refill with fresh coolant after installation and bleed the system according to your service manual.

Will my existing hoses fit, or do I need new ones?

Factory hose connections are standard. If your current hoses are cracked, brittle, or original to the vehicle, replace them during this service—they're inexpensive insurance against future leaks.
