Note: As this is an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
These beads were created during the Indus Valley Civilization by drawing patterns on carnelian using liquid natron derived from plants, then firing them at low temperatures between 300°C and 400°C. While they have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that they were originally produced in the Indus River Valley and transported via land and sea routes.
