Yes. This axleback system is designed to connect at the factory flange — no modifications to the mid-pipe or hangers required. You'll need standard exhaust clamps and hardware, which are not included.

Does the stainless steel need any prep or coating before install?

No prep needed. The stainless is ready to bolt on as-is. Over time it may develop light surface patina, but won't corrode or degrade structurally.

What do I need to complete the install?

You'll need basic hand tools (wrenches, socket set), jack and jack stands, and exhaust clamps and bolts to secure the axleback to your mid-pipe. A hoist or lift makes access easier but isn't required.
