Designed for modern live production environments, this compact studio camera delivers the visual quality of large broadcast systems in a lightweight, self contained design. By combining a digital film style sensor with Blackmagic generation 5 color science, it produces cinematic images while remaining optimised for continuous studio operation. The Four Thirds sensor offers 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25 600, allowing consistent results in challenging lighting conditions such as dim stages, theatres or conference venues. Even low light scenes retain clean detail with minimal noise, making it suitable for a wide range of live applications.
A large 7‑inch touchscreen LCD with 1 920 × 1 200 resolution and 600 nits brightness is integrated directly into the body, functioning as both viewfinder and control surface. Physical dials for brightness, contrast and focus peaking complement the touchscreen interface, ensuring precise framing and focus during long productions. Side handles and multiple tripod mounting points enhance comfort and flexibility when used on pedestals, tripods or portable studio rigs.
Connectivity is tailored for streamlined live workflows. Powerful HDMI and 12G‑SDI outputs carry video, embedded audio, tally, talkback and camera control, allowing seamless integration with ATEM Mini and ATEM SDI switchers. Using a single HDMI connection, operators can remotely adjust settings, trigger recording and monitor tally status, significantly reducing setup time. Program return via SDI enables on camera confidence monitoring during live broadcasts.
Recording is not limited to live switching. Two USB‑C expansion ports allow direct capture of Blackmagic RAW to external disks in Ultra HD up to 60 frames per second. This provides high quality masters for post production while maintaining a simple media workflow. Built in audio features include a 3.5 mm stereo input that can also accept timecode, integrated microphones, a headphone output and embedded SDI audio, ensuring flexible sound capture without additional hardware.
With active Micro Four Thirds lens support, compatible optics can be remotely controlled for iris, focus and zoom. Optional focus and zoom demands allow full lens operation from tripod handles, replicating traditional studio camera ergonomics in a compact form factor. This combination of cinematic image quality, efficient connectivity and portable design makes the camera ideal for live news, sports, education, houses of worship and event production.
