A medium-sized nest for your ant colony.

This nest is perfectly sized to accommodate the growth of your ant colony. With several exits, it's designed for easy expansion if necessary, allowing you to create a larger nest or connect a Thermo/Hydro meter (available for separate purchase) to monitor temperature and humidity levels. The nest itself consists of five chambers, providing your colony the autonomy to choose their preferred location within the nest - whether that's closer to a moisture source or slightly further away. This feature also extends to the option of using a heating cable beneath the nest, which can be facilitated by our separately available nest feet.

This set includes:

• nest made from 3D-printed PLA, measuring 10x10cm.
• separate white removable inner section also made from 3D-printed PLA.
• 3mm transparent plexiglass cover with holes for nest humidification.
• 6 nest ports:
5 sealed ports for closing off extra openings
1 open port to connect the nest to an outdoor habitat.
• 2 Melamine Sponges for effective moisture absorption.
• 2 Stainless Steel meshes to prevent ants from accessing certain areas.

• The removable white inner section is ideal when the exterior is a different color than white, ensuring clear visibility of the ants.
• The plexiglass is affixed using hex screws embedded in copper threads, allowing easy disassembly, for instance, for nest cleaning.
• The port with an opening can accommodate a small tube (OD 10mm) or a larger one (ID 12mm) (tubes not included).
• The humidification chamber is equipped with a Melamine Sponge for effective moisture absorption. Excess moisture drains out from the sides to prevent it from entering the nest. An included stainless steel mesh keeps ants out of the reservoir, and it can be easily cleaned or replaced if needed.
• The aesthetically pleasing natural chambers feature 6 openings (10mm each), allowing for expansion possibilities such as adding temperature and humidity sensors or connecting a second nest.

OPTIONS:
• The nest is available in multiple colors.

• A 3mm red (transparent) acrylic cover is available, which provides darkness inside the nest for most ants while allowing you to observe the progress.

• Additional types of nest ports can be purchased separately.

This Clean Nest is a part of our modular system, ensuring that you never buy something that you won't use as your colony grows.
The modular system is easy to expand with other components.
All modules are 5 cm or multiples thereof (this one, for example, is 10x10).
