Description:
Music of the Private Concert Association" Vol. 5! The chamber music versions of "Song of the Earth" and "Song of the Wandering Young Man"! The "Private Concert Association" was founded by Schoenberg in 1918 to perform symphonies and orchestral works arranged for chamber music. The "Music of the Private Performance Society" is a collection of works by Henk Guitart, a specialist of the New Vienna School of Music who founded the Schoenberg Ensemble and participated in many recordings as a violist of the Schoenberg Quartet, and Gruppo Montebello, an ensemble project by Guitart, which was established by Schoenberg in 1918 to perform symphonies and orchestral works in chamber arrangements. This popular series features various chamber music versions arranged by Schoenberg's associates and pupils, and is a modern re-creation of the music of the "Private Performing Society" by the "Gruppo Montebello" ensemble project. In this fifth volume, "Song of the Wandering Young Man," arranged into a chamber ensemble version by Schoenberg, president of the Private Performing Society, and "Song of the Earth," arranged by Henk Guitart, who has carried on Schoenberg's spirit into the modern age. Mahler's two great songs with orchestral accompaniment are performed by a dozen sensitive ensembles. Tokyo M-Plus
