Design Notes

This pattern featuring magnificent lobsters is a celebration of The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow as well as a nod to Catherine’s favourite place in the world, Cornwall.

The National Lobster Hatchery is a leading marine conservation, education, and research charity nestled in Padstow, Cornwall. Dedicated to safeguarding the future of the European lobster and promoting sustainability in our marine environment the team aim to use innovative research and breeding programs, to replenish lobster populations and support sustainable fisheries. To date, they’ve released over 500,000 juvenile lobsters back into the sea, making a significant impact on marine ecosystems.

For every product purchased featuring the Prize of Padstow pattern (on this website or in Catherine’s Etsy store) £5 will be donated to the National Lobster Hatchery. Find out more about their work here. The hatchery is open to visitors and you can even adopt your own Lobsters and follow its journey out at sea!

Care

Our luxury bath mats are already extremely water absorbent and quick-drying, however it's best to machine wash occasionally at 30°c. This is to maintain softness and keep the microfibre loop pile nice and bouncy. After washing, hang to dry and then give it a brush to prevent the fibres from stiffening.
