The third SACD of Hansjörg Albrecht's organ arrangements! Hansjörg Albrecht has delighted us with his unique arrangements of "Wagner: Ring (OC612)" and "Bach: Goltberg (OC625)". This time, he takes on the challenge of "Pictures at an Exhibition. Various organists have already performed and recorded the organ version of this piece, but this may be the first SACD release. This coupling adds the organ arrangement of "Isle of Death" by Alex Langman. The church's two Romantic-style renovated organs, one large and one small, have recently undergone further electronic modifications that have made it possible to play two of them simultaneously, a breakthrough. The three works you can hear here will also make you say, "What? Is this possible? and you will definitely be surprised. The main piece, "Pictures at an Exhibition," of course, and "Petrushka" sounded as if they were different pieces. The rhythmic quality of the original piece is a bit lacking because of the organ, but once the piece is so heavily colored by the sound, there is nothing more to say about it.
