A vase produced by 3D-printing clay in thin layered passes — the layers themselves become a moiré pattern across the body. Designed and produced by ferm Living.
The ferm Living Moire Vase is built by depositing clay in thin successive layers via a 3D printer rather than hand-throwing or molding. The layered process leaves the layer lines visible across the body — the moiré pattern emerges from the layer geometry, not from applied decoration. "Moiré" comes from the French word for "watered," referring to the graphic effect that appears when organic and geometric forms meet.
Display vessel for fresh or dried stems
The vase holds fresh flowers or branches when in use, or stands as a display object empty. The moiré pattern reads as the visual signature whether or not the vase contains an arrangement.
