Made in France during the 1960s, this sapphire and diamond cocktail ring is impossible to keep your eyes off. We are absolutely obsessed with the soft cushion outline of the cluster combined with the impressive finger coverage this ring offers.
Set to centre with a natural sapphire with a stunning bluebell hue, with a slightly inkier tone than a typical 'cornflower blue' stone. As the ring is turned under light, flashes of periwinkle, azure and sky blue dance and flicker at the sapphires edge.
Rub-over set in an open-back setting which is raised to allow light to gather below the central stone and illuminate it from below. Surrounded by a cluster of fourteen round brilliant-cut diamonds, each meticulously matched in colour and clarity, with a combined approximate weight of 2ct. Their bright twinkle beautifully compliments the central sapphire and helps bring out the lighter hues within it. The diamonds are claw-set in open-back settings above a raised gallery formed by linear openwork which gives the ring a real sense of structure and integrity. The gallery tapers to form a basket-like structure, with shoulders which lightly taper inwards before flowing to a solid 18ct yellow gold band.
A true statement piece, this ring embodies the glamour and sophistication of the 1960s.
Excellent: all stones are secure and well set, with no damage to the mount. Professionally polished and carefully inspected by our workshop, ready to wear and enjoy.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
