No. UTEX Media Kits do not include concentrated stock solutions for each individual chemical component of a medium. Compatible chemicals have been pre-measured and combined to not only make preparation easier, but also reduce packaging and shipping costs.

What if I want individual stock solutions?

Each culture medium page includes a recipe that, when applicable, provides instructions for preparing stock solutions and how much to add. Because some components aren’t suitable for stock solutions, related instructions are provided only when applicable.

Directions

To upgrade the 10L Bristol Media Kit to Modified Bolds 3N Media:

Obtain and wear the appropriate PPE.
Prepare the Bristol Media from the 10L Media Kit as directed, except the final volume should be brought up to 9L (9,000 mL) only instead of 10L.
Carefully add the solutions (components #1-4) in order from the Media Upgrade Kit to the 9L of Bristol Media.
Bring the volume up to 10 Liters with d-H₂O and mix well.
If needed, autoclave or filter-sterilize the medium and allow to cool to room temperature.
Store at refrigerator temperatures.
